Church at Brook Hills, thank you for your generous support of babies and their mothers in Togo. Because of the care they receive, babies are surviving and thriving past their first birthdays. They are growing into healthy children with bright futures because of you.
This update includes ministry progress at La Grace II Child Development Center, based at Eglise de la Grande Commission (TG0606) and Ebenezer Child Development Center, based at Eglise Biblique Chretienne de la Vie Profonde Paroisse (TG0710).
In the photo above, the Survival Specialist at Eglise de la Grande Commission prays with a mother and her baby before teaching a lesson on child development.
Survival Activities at Eglise de la Grande Commission (TG0606)
Currently, 15 babies and their mothers are participating in the church’s Survival program. This church partner is located in a small community of approximately 600 residents. The average household income is equivalent to $25 per month.
Maternal and infant mortality rates are high due to extreme poverty and a lack of medical facilities. People in the community are at risk for malaria and waterborne illnesses.

Babies Transition to Compassion’s Sponsorship Program at
Eglise de la Grande Commission
Thanks to your support, these babies have recently celebrated their first birthdays and transitioned to home-based care through Compassion’s Sponsorship Program. They will continue their growth with the guidance provided to them by the staff at Eglise de la Grande Commission and a loving sponsor.
Survival Activities at Eglise Biblique Chretienne de la Vie Profonde Paroisse (TG0710)
Currently, 13 babies and their mothers are enrolled in the church’s Survival program. The church serves a community of 4,800 residents in extreme poverty. Most families live on the equivalent of $10 per month. Typical homes in the area are constructed with mud walls and tin roofs. The regional diet consists of bananas, beans, cassava, cereal, egg, goat, maize and rice.
This community has limited access to health care, and the mortality rate for mothers and infants is high. There are many cases of malaria and HIV/AIDS.
