Crosspoint Church, thank you for your gift to launch a new child development center based at Iglesia Bautista Independiente in Cusco, Peru. The child development center is located in a community of 3,000 residents. 60% of people in this community are chronically malnourished, and children under 5 years of age commonly suffer from pneumonia. Only 40% of people over the age of 15 are literate, and there is great need for teachers in schools. Your gift enables trained staff to serve those who need help.

Impact of Your Gift
Iglesia Bautista Independiente hired staff, recruited volunteers and registered 102 children who will benefit from Compassion’s holistic child development program. The center is operating normally and children participate in activities at the center for 6 to 12 hours each week. These children learn that they are loved and receive medical checkups, nutritious meals and educational support.

A Letter From Milca, a Partnership Facilitator
Compassion’s Partnership Facilitators manage relationships with local churches, helping them build capacity, mobilize resources and strengthen ownership of the ministry.
Dear Friends,
Cordial greetings! May God bless you and your families. My name is Milca. I am a partnership facilitator at Compassion Peru. I help churches build capacity to provide quality care for participants. I currently work with 13 churches, including Iglesia Bautista Independiente Mosoq Ñan.
The program you support is located in a community of extreme poverty. To receive medical care, community members must travel to the district capital. The distance makes this difficult, and the care they receive there is not always optimal.
Before this intervention, there were few resources to support child development. The new program allows the church to meet the basic needs of children and work with caregivers so they can come alongside their children in the child development process. Caregivers are grateful for this blessing because it gives their families the opportunity to rise above poverty.
Through your support, Iglesia Bautista Independiente will be able to effectively administer Compassion programming. They will purchase the necessary materials to carry out child development activities and will arrange desks and chairs to create an environment that is conducive to learning.
