A Final Update on Survival Activities at PAG Mtwivila

October 7, 2019

Pictured above: Caregivers in the Survival program participate in a sewing class. The skills learned in this class will equip mothers to create clothing and household items that can be sold in the market and generate income for their families.

Survival Statistics in Tanzania (January – June 2019)
2,342 mothers and their babies received Survival support
336 compassion-assisted births
98% of babies born at normal weight
108 churches currently implement survival services

Thank you for your support of the Survival program at PAG Mtwivila in Iringa, Tanzania. This is the final update on this center, as it recently closed. Unfortunately, this church did not have proper staffing to continue Survival programming. Compassion believes in providing only the highest quality resources and training to Survival caregivers, so closing this center was a difficult decision but the right choice.

We praise God for the ways that He worked in each of these mother’s lives while in Survival programming. Thanks to your generosity, from January to June of this year, 7 caregivers were able to learn about early childhood development, receive proper medical care, learn income generating skills, and hear about the hope of Jesus and the future that He has planned for each of them. Mothers in the Mtwivila Iringa community are well-equipped to utilize the skills they learned in the Survival program in their own lives and with their families.

IntelliTect, thank you again for your generosity in supporting this Survival program. Your gift has positively impacted mothers and babies in Tanzania. Please keep this church and the mothers and babies in your prayers.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
