An Update on Survival Activities at POMC Najile Church | Spring 2020

May 29, 2020

Providing Critical Resources for Caregivers

Your kind support of Compassion Survival in the community of Keekonyokie-Maasai, Narok, Kenya is helping to provide home-based care for pregnant mothers and caregivers with babies, much-needed medical care, learning activities, advocacy for vulnerable mothers, and much more. With your help, POMC Najile Church is giving babies born into poverty the care they need to thrive, especially during the critical prenatal months and first year of life. Mothers and caregivers are also being equipped with the tools necessary to raise healthy babies. One caregiver from POMC Najile Church says, “Thank you so much for being used by God to make a difference in our lives. Because of you, our children are healthy and we are very happy.” Thanks to your gift, Compassion Survival can continue to support impoverished mothers and their babies. May this report be a blessing to you!

A Message from a Caregiver at POMC Najile Church

Dear Donors,

I greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, and I am so glad that the Lord has revealed many blessings in our lives. On behalf of all Survival caregivers and beneficiaries, I am so grateful and thankful to you for choosing to support us. Thank you for being a blessing to each one of us. We count this as love and care from the Lord.

In addition to home-based activities, we typically attend the Survival program once a month to learn about the Word of God, have group discussions with other caregivers, and play with our children. We are trained on skills such as making products out of beads and tailoring. We are also trained on topics about early childhood development, parenting, family planning, and others. We sometimes have special seminars, and we really learn a lot. We are encouraged to pray for one another and to help our children to grow in the knowledge of God. We were given Bibles, and we study them at the program and at home. All glory to God!

This month we formed small groups to help us get training on specific skills, and we will be working together to make an income and help one another. Another thing we learn about is how to prepare healthy food to meet our family’s needs. We are also in a loan program that helps us start our own businesses and manage our finances properly. We are so grateful for this opportunity.

Thank you so much for being used by God to make a difference in our lives. Because of you, our children are healthy and we are very happy. May God bless you and your families. We are praying for you, and we hope you will continue praying for us as well.

Sincerely,

Peris
