*Note: Since Compassion received reports from Kenya about this Survival center, the country has limited gatherings because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Caregivers learn tailoring skills as a resource for their families and a method to generate income.

The Survival program hosts a training session on nutrition. They learn about different food groups, and how to create a balanced diet for their families.

A Survival specialist coaches caregivers on basic health and hygiene skills for their children, such as hand washing and how to use the bathroom.

A Letter of Appreciation from Ketray

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. My name is Ketray, and I am 31 years old. I am the mother of three children including Shantel, who is registered in the Survival program at ACK St. Paul’s Wandeche Child Development Center. I was glad when I received a call from ACK St. Paul’s Wandeche CDC after a Survival specialist visited me in my home to tell me about the program. I started attending group activity lessons at the center which helped me meet other mothers in the community. I have been able to socialize and exchange ideas with them. We learn about the Word of God together in Bible study. The Bible has changed me so much, because now I can apply scripture to my own life and pray for my children. I have gained boldness to encourage other people through God’s Word. I joined a sewing class which has helped me earn some money through tailoring work at home. I can pay school fees for my children and provide food for them. I am so grateful for the support I have received through the Survival program. This has impacted my life positively as a woman. May God bless you so much.

Yours faithfully,

Ketray
