Karemu Shares Her Story
Greetings from me and my fellow Survival mothers! I am Karemu, mother to Caleb. It is my hope that you are doing well. The mothers and babies in our community are doing great under God’s care and love. We hope that you are taking care of yourself during this pandemic period. We are taking care of ourselves and trusting that God will continue guiding us in all we do and that all the glory will go to him.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your continued support, not only to me but also to my fellow Survival mothers and their babies. A lot has happened to me since I joined the Survival program, and I am so grateful from the bottom of my heart. I joined this program while I was pregnant, and it was awesome because I learned so much. I learned the importance of attending clinics and getting checkups from the doctor to see if my baby is doing well. During my pregnancy period, I received nutritional supplements that helped me and my baby’s health. I was also advised on the importance of having health insurance. Now that my baby is here, he is already 10 months old, and I have so much to be grateful for.
During Survival programming, we learn about healthy eating for babies and the importance of having a kitchen garden. I have one at home where I grow vegetables, not only for my baby but for my entire family. We also received water purifiers for clean and safe drinking water. This is so helpful because my baby drinks clean and safe water, and now we have reduced incidences of illness in our family. In addition, we received solar lamps for lighting our house at night. This has been helpful, especially during rainy season when it’s very dark. My baby and entire family enjoy it, and we are so grateful. We also received water storage tanks, which enable us to store water during the rainy season.
Last but not least, I want to share what is most exciting to me. There is a computer class that is going on for the Survival mothers, and I am one of them. I am so happy for the new skills that I am learning. After my training, I would like to start my own business.
Thank you so much for your kind support, and may God continue providing for you always. I would also like to share this Bible verse with you, and may God continue working through you!
“He who is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward him for what he has done.” — Proverbs 19:17
Yours faithfully,
Karemu
