Appreciation From an Encouraged Caregiver

Hello my dear friends,

I am happy to have such loving friends like you. God is always good to us all. My name is Mary, and I am a born again, young Christian woman who loves the Lord. I am thankful for your kind love and mercies toward my family on behalf of my loving child.

I am 33 years old and have been married for 10 years. God has blessed us with three children. We have been living in a rural area comfortably in our small, traditional house of one room. My neighbors are friendly and helpful, especially during this hard time of drought and hunger. It is really a hard time, but I am always happy because God is the provider.

I make dresses and earn income for my family to help meet our basic needs. I am looking to start my own business in a nearby shopping center. My husband looks for day-to-day jobs, which is so hard during this drought period. But God is good, he is our provider, and we keep on praising him.

My baby, Abigael, is now 6 months old and is growing strong and healthy. She is always full of joy, and we are excited to celebrate her first birthday. We always hope for God’s sufficient grace and protection for her. She is always happy and loves to play so much. So far, she has had successful developmental milestones. I always pray that she may continue growing in good heath, in Jesus’ mighty name.

I have learned a lot through the Survival program training and have gained different skills such as dressmaking, soap making, and cake baking. We are currently learning about hairdressing. We also have seminars on our spiritual life and family relationships, which has brought a change in my life. Because of the trainings, I can earn a living for my family and keep a good relationship with them. The center staff have been good to me, and I enjoy the home visits because they are full of helpful lessons and encouragement to be strong in my faith during life challenges. I really enjoy their visits, God bless them.

Thank you so much, friends, for your tireless love and kind support. I always pray for you. Please keep on praying for my family and community during this long-experienced drought period in Kenya, and also please pray for Abigael’s healthy growth and success in her developmental milestones.

May God bless you,
Mary
