Your generous support of Compassion’s Survival initiative at POMC Najile Church is helping to remove the obstacles that stand in the way of babies’ healthy development. Likewise, the new mothers are starting down a road that leads to a better life. They are learning useful new skills, building supportive friendships with other mothers, and experiencing the transformational love of Jesus. Thanks to you, they are being empowered to create an environment where their beautiful baby will thrive.

Growing as a Caregiver Through Compassion Survival

Dear Friends,

My name is Ann, and my son is Lewis. How are you? It is my hope that you and your family are doing well. My family and I are also doing well. I am very happy and thankful to God for giving me this chance to write to you on behalf of my son, my fellow caregivers and their children. We wish to say thank you for the support you have given us. We are very happy because since we joined the program, our nutritional needs have been taken care of and our health, and the health of our children, has been a priority. We are encouraged to visit the clinic for pre- and post-natal care. Even after birth we could participate in lessons on breastfeeding, how to prepare food for children and hygiene, among other things.

One of the things I enjoy most is the stimulation time when mothers and their children try an activity together. In one of our lessons, we sang lullabies for our young ones. It was fun and I learned a lot on how to bond with my baby.

We usually attend the program once a month at the church. We meet with other caregivers and pray together, learn the Word of God, and share our challenges, abilities and skills. As mothers, we are so proud of you. Our lives have changed though your support and we pray that God will be with you and bless you. You are a good friend to us, and our prayers will always be with you.

I would like to share some Bible verses that I really love: Psalms 20 and Jeremiah 29:11. These verses are our prayers for you.

On behalf of my entire Survival program, thank you so much.

Ann
