Enabling Holistic Child Development Through the Local Church

At the new child development center being launched in northern Rwanda, children will benefit from opportunities that would otherwise be out of their reach. Program activities encourage healthy growth — spiritually, physically, socially, emotionally and economically — and children are invited to participate early in their lives when the program can benefit them most. Tailored according to age, gender, health, culture and family situations, the program changes as children’s needs change. Against the harsh context of poverty, the nurturing environment at the church-driven center fosters well-being, youth agency, self-confidence and a spirit of service. Children are equipped to become disciples of Christ and achieve a fulfilling life.
Your gift will equip the church with the resources to:

Hire and train center staff.

Make necessary building modifications.

Purchase necessary supplies, such as learning materials, office equipment and classroom furnishings.

Provide immediate sponsorship program support to newly registered children until they can be matched with a sponsor.

Conduct initial health assessments and provide important medical interventions for registered children.

The new church partner is located in northern Rwanda where there is no other church partner currently. The church expects to transform the living conditions and spirtual welfare of children and families in the area by addressing basic household needs and organizing training for caregivers. Children participating in the sponsorship program will have full access to education and health services. They will learn skills that will enable them to adapt themselves to life and bring change to their community.
