Dear Friends,
Warm greetings from Rwanda!
I am Flavien Havugimana, partnership facilitator of Gicumbi Cluster where ADEPR Bwisige is located. I am delighted to let you know that ADEPR Bwisige started activities in May 2023, and it is a great pleasure for the entire community where this Pentecostal Church operates, in the northern province of Rwanda. This letter aims to recognize your love and support for this community of Bwisige.
The program started with 200 participants from the poorest of the poor families. According to poverty level data in Rwanda, all children fall into the first and second category of the poverty index, which means that they live in absolute poverty compared to the rest of the poverty categories. The purpose of choosing children from the poorest of the community is to support people who really need it and enable them to overcome daily challenges that prevent families from meeting their basic needs.
I would like to express my heartfelt thanks for your support. The church was able to use your gift to purchase office and kitchen materials, complete the electrical installation in the center office, conduct general health screenings for the children and distribute salaries to two center staff members. Your tremendous support is at the front lines of this journey to support children in the Bwisige community. It not only impacts the community today, but also in the future for great transformation of living conditions of local families.
Your support in general is highly important to these participants and their entire families. It helps them access quality education by enabling the church to pay for school fees, scholastic materials and uniforms as well as other basic requirements for school. In addition, your support enables children and families to have access to health services and health education. They get medical insurance, treatment fees, access to hygiene and sanitation services. Moreover, your support helps those who are in need to have access to decent shelter. The church, in collaboration with the local government and the surrounding community, supports people who need decent shelters to access them through community work projects.
Furthermore, living conditions and the mindset of children is being impacted. Children are growing physically, socio-emotionally, cognitively and spiritually, and it is influencing the rest of the community. You are creating a great hope for a bright future for the children and the community. There is no doubt that on their own they will positively impact others and change their community.
Your love towards them reflects the love our Lord Jesus who accepted to be crucified for saving our lives. As a partnership facilitator, I want to express my sincere gratitude to you and your loved ones for your support. The church leadership and the community are full of joy and pleasure to see our children grow with hope for the wonderful future. Keep praying for them to achieve all the desired outcomes.
