Northbrook Church, thank you for investing in the lives of babies and their mothers in El Salvador. Currently, 15 babies and their caregivers receive holistic care in the Survival program offered at Corderitos de Jesús Student Center, based at Iglesia Mision Cristiana. Your gift is meeting critical needs for families living in desperate circumstances.
The Survival program opens new possibilities to mothers living in poverty. Through the program, mothers are spiritually nourished, fellowship with other mothers in their community, and learn valuable skills to provide for their growing families. Children are surrounded by nurturing staff and experience God’s great love for them.

A Message of Gratitude From a Caregiver
Dear Sponsors,
Greetings! I hope you and your family are well. I thank God for your kindness in supporting this Survival program.
When I joined the Survival program, I was eight months pregnant with my daughter, Yeilin. During my pregnancy I received medical checkups, general exams, medicine, a food package, newborn supplies, a mosquito net and a Bible from the center. I am thankful to God for a safe delivery and a healthy baby.
The Survival program is beautiful because I learn new things as a mother. My baby has grown cognitively, emotionally and physically as I learn how to care for her. At 10 months old, she crawls, stands and is trying to take small steps! She has developed fine motor skills and shown cognitive growth.
My favorite activities at the Survival program are early stimulation activities for my daughter, group meetings, Bible studies and receiving food packages.
Thank you for giving to such a lovely program. It has been a great blessing to many mothers and participants. I hope God continues to bless you. Please pray for my baby and my family, that God will continue to provide for us. Sending you hugs!
Sincerely,
Marta

Transition From Survival to Sponsorship
Pictured below are some of the babies who celebrated their first birthdays over the past year, and transitioned to home-based care through Compassion’s Sponsorship program. They will continue to thrive with support from the staff at Corderitos de Jesús Student Center, their caregiver and a loving sponsor. Your gift helps them grow!
Survival Spotlight: Fellowship Activities
In Acts 2:42 we read that the early followers of Jesus “devoted themselves … to fellowship” (NIV). Fellowship remains an essential expression of faith and is especially crucial for new mothers. In many instances, fellowship activities provide a critical lifeline for mothers who would otherwise remain isolated.
Whether fellowship includes sharing meals together, celebrations, educational training sessions, home visits, or other opportunities, mothers in the Survival program experience God’s love and care through these activities. Not only do these and other fellowship occasions encourage mothers, but they also provide them with nurturing connections with other mothers, establishing meaningful friendships, as well as offering emotional, physical and spiritual support.
With Gratitude
Northbrook Church, this Survival program would not be possible without your faithful support. Thank you for joining Compassion International and the work the Lord is doing through Iglesia Mision Cristiana in El Salvador. We hope you are encouraged by these updates.
