Dear Friends,
Receive a cordial greeting, hoping that the grace of the Lord is abundant in your life, work and family.
My name is Flor de Maria de Reyes, Partnership Facilitator of Compassion International in El Salvador. I wish to thank you for such a noble investment for the start of the Shamma Kids Child Development Center in the community of Joya de Ceren, located in San Juan Opico, La Libertad, El Salvador.
This new center has already registered 134 children who are in poverty.
Once registered, each child will receive:
- food twice a week on the days they attend
- school tutoring
- medical check ups, including laboratory tests and medicines if needed
- birthday celebrations
- uniforms
- recreational activities
In preparation for the project opening the funds have been invested in:
- kitchen equipment such as pans, food storage boxes and utensils
- office equipment including computer, printer, camera, file cabinets and other administration supplies to provide a better service to the children
This ministry, with the great support that you give to fulfill the great commission that Jesus left to the Church, is having surprising results in a short time. Some stories are:
Juan Antonio Carrillo (age 6) is a poor child who lives only with his mother and his 3 little brothers and sisters. They live in a place of high vulnerability because there is no water; no light, transportation arrives every hour, and is a place contaminated by lead from the Record Batteries factory. Juan was helped with the purchase of kindergarten graduation suit and shoes – of which his mother is very grateful.
Ashley Nahomy Sigüenza (age 4) is a girl who has leukemia since 2 years of age. The center has helped her with basic basket, transportation and meal expenses to attend the medical appointments at the National Hospital Benjamin Bloom. She lives with her mother and father in a house made of adobe. Whenever she can due to her illness, she attends to the project because she likes it and plays with other children. Currently she is stable and happy for her Christmas gift.
This is part of the blessing that God, through you in fulfilling Jesus’ mission to help the poor, is being given through the Church, hoping that God will continue to bless you more and more.
You are very important to us. The Bible says: He who gives the poor to God lends, and God will bless you until it overflows because of your support and being part of transforming the life of every child that attends to the project.
Thank you for being a channel of blessing for children of the community. I thank and ask God to bless the work of your hands, spiritually and materially prosper your life.
From Compassion International and the Shama Kids Child Development Center, receive a fraternal embrace on behalf of all children, pastor and other center staff members.
Blessings,
Flor de Reyes
